Fadi Graduates with a Master's in Theoretical Physics: From Topology to Organic Batteries

Yet another CQTech Master’s student graduates with honors. We are proud to announce the graduation of Takei Eddine Fadi Lalaoui, who defended his Master’s dissertation in Theoretical Physics at Constantine 1 University. With a dissertation titled “Topological Quantum Phases in Organic Batteries: Analysis of the SSH-Extended Hubbard Model,” he worked on one of the challenges in condensed matter physics: understanding what happens to topological invariants when strong electron-electron interactions are introduced.

While standard methods struggle to compute topological invariants for interacting many-body systems, Fadi, supervised by CQTech’s PI Dr. Taha Rouabah, explored ways to calculate the invariants within an SSH-Extended Hubbard Model. In a work spanning abstract theory and practical application, he applied his analytical skills with mathematical models and used computer simulations to see how polymers such as the poly-bi-[8]-annulenylene behave as battery materials.
During his defense, he impressed by his mastery of the topic and communicated with an ease worthy of a far more mature researcher! His Master’s defense jury was presided over by Pr. K. Ait Moussa and examined by CQTech’s senior researcher, Pr. A. Benslama.
Congratulations, Fadi! We’re proud of you at CQTech and wish to see you achieve greater things, as we know you’re capable of.
